Well, not sure who won the Barry lid, but I came up a bid short. The kitchen cabinet fund won over! I did get my DVD of the Pro Bowl today...not much help in the discussion, but I'll post these pics for the winning bidder.

I couldn't find that black residue on the rear of the helmet, so that remains a mystery?

Hi, I won some items, but hated I had to pass on this helmet. Maybe you guys can help answer the questions. It was advertised as a game used TN helmet. His senior year was the only year they used white facemask so it has to be 1983. But when I looked up pics of Reggie in 1983 the helmet looks the same BUT it has two plastic clips holding the facemask on instead of one like the auction. And all game TN helmets would have had the sticker with the players number on the back also. So I don't think this was the same helmet. And don't players just get one game helmet all year?

I was very excited to win the Derrick Thomas helmet… After doing some homework, it turns out to have been used the WHOLE 95 season as well as the 96 Pro Bowl… :D

Great DT lid! For the benefit of photomatchers, the Chiefs are notoriously poor at reconditioning their helmets during the season. I had a Neil Smith lid that was destroyed, and easily matched. Same with a Tamba Hali helmet that I currently have.

I'd love to know who picked that one up.

I got the Eugene Robinson lid...I had "fear of missing out" syndrome, and picked it up at the last second...I had to pick up something after I missed out on the Sanders lid

thanks so much. I totally agree... it was definitely my second favorite piece in the auction. Still completely shocked at how cheap it finished. Definitely not complaining though. Lol
