About a month ago I traveled with a group of family members to Boston for 9 days to take in a few games at Fenway Park and explore the city. None of us had ever been there before, but have been Red Sox fans for many years. Because of this, we made sure to take the tour of Fenway Park while we were there. At the end of the tour you finish in a "museum" of Red Sox history. Being in this section of Fenway Park is what led me to this hobby. Below is a wall in the "museum" that pushed me over the edge.

In my office at work, I would like to replicate one of the display boxes on the wall. I enjoy the clear and modern look of the acrylic box directly on the wall. I have started to plan what I will do for the six different bats, but am looking for ideas on how to pull off the look.

Any suggestions or input is greatly appreciated.

That's a great display they have but it looks like it could be quite costly. You could start with something like this (http://www.staggsports.com/ProductHorizontalBat.htm) but you might have to have the acrylic custom made.

I am still in the process of redoing my room but I plain on using this (http://www.ebay.com/itm/300491790082?var=600007570203&ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649) for my bats.

Here's an acrylic bat display case: http://www.casesforcollectibles.com/batdisplaycase.html

They also make custom acrylic covers, so if you don't like their case, you can make your own, provided you have an option for the bat holders.

It is a very cool area and display room. Me and 5 others went for our first time to Fenway from Nebraska. I surely understand the "long way away" concept.

If someone buys that case let us know how it looks and take a pic. I like that a lot but would get it without the mirrored backing.

I put this up in my room as it's super cheap and I think looks good. Also I love being able to grab the bats whenever I want.

Do you know if it blocks UV light? It doesn't mention it on there site.

The Acrylic with the mirror looks nice. I might do 1 and put my best 6 bats in it but for my majority I am going to continue to go with these. I think you can go up to 15. If you do it yourself you can go wall to ceiling.

After about a month of working with a few different vendors, I have finished my display at work. Below are a few "finished product" photos. Now I just need a few more (four) bats to fill it up.

And what I was looking to accomplish (one of the six):

I think that case is amazing. When I saw it at Fenway I immediately knew its what I want. Did you have to go do different vendors or were you able to buy the case pretty close to that size/spec through one source?

Thank you. I ended up "piecing" it together actually. The wooden deck I had made by a custom cabinet maker. The acrylic case was custom made by a company that specializes in plastics. I ordered it after I had the wood deck so I could give exact measurements of what it would be going around. Lastly, the bat holders were purchased off eBay and self installed.

I love the way it turned out and have a personal flaw that when I get an idea... I don't stop until I have completed it. This is one example of that.

If any one is interested in dimensions, feel free to let me know.

The display came out really nice! If you don't mind, can you please email me as much detail as you can about your display? Specially the measurements, whether the acrylic case is set flush to the wooden deck, how is the back of the deck for hanging purposes, whether you stained the deck or not, which company you used for the acrylic case, which eBay seller you got the holders, measurement on putting them up, etc. Thank you!

i don't know how difficult it would be to find, but i made mine out of an endcap from a store rack, that was selling everything because it was closing. i bought 1/8 wire hooks and set it up. i am really happy with it and the wife is as well. total cost, about $60.

I can email pictures of my homemade bat displays to anyone; just ask. I have no idea how to post pics here so that's the best I can do

Has anybody heard from the OP with the details on the display case?
