Ok. Can anyone beat this for largest game used item they've purchased? I just picked up this 7'x10' section of right field wall from old comiskey park. It was one of the sections with the retired players numbers. This one happens to be Luia Aparicio's. Very cool...,but Huge.

I'm still sweating from hanging it in my basement. It's a Beast of a piece. :)

I found out there were 7 panels with the different retired White Sox player #s. Has anybody seen any if the other panels out there??

Found this article from 1991 in Trib and it talks about these pads going for $1,000 - $1,400 each with retired numbers on them. Very cool.

I have not but love this piece. Where did you find it?

There was a baseball clinic business in Orland Park ( batting cages and lessons..etc) a new owner bought the business and this was inside the old business when they bought it. They didn't want it so I bought it from them. It is a incredibly cool item!!! Huge and heavy. But I remember seeing this when I went to old comiskey.

I saw that article... I'm trying to find one of the auction catalogs from Comiskey to have with this piece. I have the book with that photo I attached. It's the biggest item I have. I think you need to be a true sox fan to appreciate this bad boy. :)))

Maybe Aparicio will be at a show signing in the Chicago area and I could lug this monster to him to sign. :)

I saw that item on Craig's List and ebay and considered buying it. Unless you have a room with a REALLY high ceiling, I can't see it displaying well.

Let's see a photo of the display in your basement.

I will post a photo soon. My basement has about 8' ceilings so it's got a little overhang on the ground. I really didn't think about the huge size until I got it into the basement... I had to have it though. To unique to pass up.

Sorry about the lighting, I'm still working on the setup in my basement.
