On the game used hit baseballs in your collection, what is the lowest career hit that you have?

Does anyone have a certain player's #2 career hit baseball?
I say #2, because I would assume the first career hit almost always goes to the player's dugout for him, unless it was an un-retrieved homerun ball.

I own Joe Bensons second career hit baseball(first career double). Also own the bat that hit it and was also used for his first mlb hit.

Not exactly what you mean, but I own Shelby Miller's first HBP the ball he plunked Ryan Hanigan of the Cincinnati Reds.

A little stretch...... But I have a game used bat from Adam Greenberg.....his only appearance was with the Chicago Cubs...first pitch hit him in the head and ended his career.

Neat thread. Nothing too crazy here but a few that come to mind:

Brett Lawrie's 29th hit (5th double, 18th RBI, game winner)
Devin Mesoraco's 43rd hit (11th double) off Roy Halladay
Homer Bailey's 3rd career extra base hit inscribed "better lucky than good"
Yonder Alonso's 22nd hit (6th double) off Chris Carpenter
Bryce Harper's 98th hit (17th double)
Billy Hamilton's 20th hit and 20th stolen base (auth to SB, evidence to hit on prior pitch)
Francisco Cervelli's 129th hit
Johnny Cueto's 21st career hit (Dodger commemorative baseball)
Eric Thames' 73rd career hit
Evan Longoria 558th hit (not particularly early, but 2011 is early among his I've seen)

and on the other end of the spectrum:

Edgar Renteria's final HR

I had the opportunity to get a players first hit, but it was a pitchers so I didn't really think it was worth the price.

I'm not much of a game used baseball guy, I only have two in my collection, but one is Jeff Samardzija's 16th career hit (3rd career double) used baseball. The funny thing is being a pitcher's hit ball I didn't really think of doing the research on this baseball until I saw this thread!

I have Jimmy Rollins career World Series hit #1. I know postseason hits don't fall into the same category as regular season hits but I thought it was a nice one to have for my collection.

Dee Gordon's #3 hit baseball; he also got his first SB right after the #3 hit. Gordon himself got the first two hit baseballs.

Kevin Kiermaier career hit #12
Brandon Guyer Career hit #33

I was able to get them all autographed on the sweet spot as well.

Also, conversely.... what would be the last career hit baseball for a certain retired player that you have?

Perhaps guys like Johnny Damon, Omar Vizquel, Griffey Jr., Sheffield, Vladimir, Manny, Todd Helton, etc....

I can't speak for hits in general, but Ballhawk Rich Buhrke caught both the final MLB HRs of Bobby Bonds and Terry Steinbach.

We had a few Jeter hits from the series in Baltimore. One sold on eBay for $1,224. It was his last hit before the All Star break.

Stretching this one quite a bit since it isn't an actual game hit ball. But a friend of mine from Celina, Ohio showed me Michael Jordan's last bat to ball contact that he ever had while playing in his last game in the minor leagues in 1995. Batting practice foul ball. It was a pitch that was fouled off and lodged in a fence and pulled out by him. Jordan's last BP at bat ever. He has the pics of Jordan while swinging, the ball lodged in the fence and a pic of him retrieving the ball taken by his wife. Jordan never played another minor league game after this one. If I remember right he played for Birmingham back then. He still has the ticket stubs, photos and the ball.

beautiful handwriting. do you know whos writing is that? ruling out Wakamatsu and Narron unless maybe Narron is known for doing this for players as the Cardinals did play the Brewers 10 days later. Just love history of an item and this was especially well done.

Not sure whose writing it is but there is writing on all panels of the ball. I also have the zip lock bag it came in and there are notations on it as well. I've never seen another first hit Cards ball but I assume this is done for every player. Could be someone within the organization maybe. Look for an announcement about this ball and the other debut items coming soon.

On the other end of the spectrum I own Jeter career hits 3,093/3,237/3,355/3,380

3,355 was a single from his last ever series at Wrigley
3,380 was a double on Fathers Day of his last ever game in Oakland

Trevor Plouffe's first career triple. Had him sign and inscribe it. He remebered the play and laughed that Adam Jones misplayed itand that was the only reason he had a triple.

I have Kris Bryant's 4th Career hit and 2nd Career RBI (same ball). I've actually been able to document through the Cubs that his second and third career hits were not collected or authenticated. So, after the first career hit/RBI which he obviously has, this is the earliest one out there.

You really can't get much earlier than this. I have Hunter Dozier's 2nd career hit and 1st Career RBI. I can confirm that he got his first hit and a ball that would have been his second hit and first RBI but after the game the play was overturned into a reached on error erasing that hit and RBI. See post 176 about it here: http://www.gameuseduniverse.com/vb_forum/showthread.php?t=67240&page=9
The ball stayed in play and Jarod Dyson also got his 342nd hit on this ball.
