I am sad to inform the GUU members of the passing of well-known and respected pioneer bat collector Bill Riddell on Tuesday August 26 following a short battle with cancer. Bill was a co-author , along with Vince Malta, Ron Fox, and myself, of BATS, the first book on game used bat collecting in the hobby, published in 1995. Bill was a good friend and I will miss him greatly, as will the bat collecting community. Sincere condolences to his wife, Diane.

My condolences. Bill wasn't as familiar to me as the other co-author of BATS, but there's no doubt his knowledge was extensive if he contributed to that team.

mr mike,

i was so sad to hear this news.....i remember going out to see you in costa mesa

and meeting him one time....he was one of the earliest gurus of game used

bats...and simply a wonderful guy....please give my condolences from all

the way on the east coast in south florida...from one bat collector to mr bill
