Plumlee wears the number one yet in this card there are curves in the white part... For those of you who are familiar with NBA jerseys, only the numbers have holes like this... Panini is a huge brand so just wondering how this card was made... did they somehow take multiple parts of the jersey and put it together?

Re: strange panini card
The card says event worn material. Also, the patch/embroidery looks to be the black part on a white backing.Comment

Re: strange panini card
Thanks for the input everyone... makes sense that it could be from an event with possibly another jersey with a different number...Comment

Re: strange panini card
Check the back of the card, in small print it should say
event worn patch or game worn.
If its an event worn patch, it could be from anything. Jacket, shorts, practice jersey.
And on the upside down pic, it cant be a nike swoosh.
bottom right corner shows threads going down.Comment

Re: strange panini card
I think I can provide some insight. I have been collecting sports cards for around 8 years but have recently been transitioning more towards complete game worn/used memorabilia. Like someone stated earlier, the patch is from an event worn jersey from one of their NBA rookie events and all of the rookies wear jerseys with the #88. This is probably because some of the rookies had yet to choose/receive their official NBA jersey numbers and also because the #88 has more patch material for cards than single digit jersey #'s and #88 has more breaks than say #1, which makes for a more appealing looking card.Comment
