I need an experts help please...

I acquired a Charlie Waters jersey made by Southland Athletic in Terrell, Texas. It has a WATERS nameplate that is made out of a really thick material sewn on. The nameplate is actually a darker blue than the jersey and the letters are pressed on and made out of a tough looking material. Its been cut off at the waistline, and I thought maybe it could be a game or practice jersey. I know he was with Dallas from 1970 to 1981. Did Southland make Dallas game or practice jerseys during this time?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

The numbers in the photo are different than those on the jersey, The phoyo shows lageer, thicker, and 2-tone numbers; yje jersey has 4=tone digits.

Those four-tone numbers were first used by the Cowboys during the 1981 season, Waters' last year with the team.

They wore two different road jerseys in 1981. They started out with the jerseys seen in post #2. Then they switched to the blue trim numbers to help Danny White see certain receivers better.
