Hey Guys,

I need your help. I just bought this Ty Cobb 5x7 photo negative on ebay (see link below) and don't know much about photos and/or negatives. I've already paid and am waiting for the item to arrive in the mail.

The seller advertised this as probably from the late 1940's. What do you think, is it possibly from the 1920's? Also, can photos be reproduced from a negative that is as badly cracked as this one?

Kevin,
Great image. I have seen glass negatives that were broken in half make decent photos. Of course there were lines in the photo from the crack in the negative. Definate 20s image. Tough to tell if it is a later negative or not. Worth a shot to see how a photo would turn out. I had a Ruth photo done from a glass negative a few months ago. I had trouble finding someone in my area that was willing to work with it, but I had some nice results. Would love to see an example when you get it done.
