Yankees jersey opinions please

Hello:

Would appreciate some feedback on this "1957" Yankees jersey. What I find odd is the Spalding logo appears to be from a later year, maybe 1960s. I have attached photos of the logo on the jersey and other jerseys, 1957 and later.

Also, should the player # be stitched before the year, or vice-versa.

Any help would be much appreciated!

On www.prosportscollectors.com (discussed here at http://www.gameuseduniverse.com/vb_f...d.php?t=61532), there's a '57 Enos Slaughter with the player # stitched before the year. On a quick look, the Spaulding tag appears to be the same, but it's in the collar, not the tail.
