Splinters from the Pine takes stance against 0062 tag fraud

    All,

I came across this within a Splinters from the Pine ebay listing and thought it would be nice to share with all of you. It seems that due to the rising number of fraudulent cases where '0062 tags are cut off of issued jerseys for no-name players and being sewn onto retail authentics for star players. Interesting read & interesting stance...

The following note is included in the auction for ebay item #230074181823

NOTICE TO COLLECTORS/DEALERS: There are quite a few Star player Majestic jerseys floating around that have been altered to look like game used/issued jerseys. The "0062" tags which are sewn into the inside seam during Majestic manufacturing are being removed /cut out from common player game used/issued jerseys along with year/set strip tagging if aplicable and are being re-sewn into customized "retail" jerseys. Occasionally the size 46, 50, etc size tags on front are also removed and used. The legit "0062" tags should be sewn into the seam during manufacturing not underneath or on top of the seam..Because of the flooding of the market with phony star players jerseys we are no longer going to be buying or selling any 2004-present star player jerseys.

I have also seen this comment on Jerseys 2000 E-Bay auction listing also. Like the say you have to do your homework before you buy.
