On July 28, 2012, the Washington Nationals wore uniforms honoring the legendary Homestead Grays in a game at Milwaukee. The uniform pictured was issued for Rick Ankiel, but he never wore it as the Nationals designated him for assignment on July 19 and his release became official on July 27. A cool looking jersey that I could not resist buying at the Nationals game-used kiosk at Nats Park later that season.

Love the Stick By Stan....does it have any seam marks on the barrel or is it more of the issued variety? You do not see many of those around!


Jeff, that comeback bat is a grail item for me. Glad he inscribed it the way he did. That will always be one of my favorite Cardinal moments. Probably the only time Larussa smiled during a ballgame as well. I remember he looked like a little kid at Chuck E. Cheeses

I have just come across 3 pairs of Rick Ankiel Cardinal game worn pants. They have his name in the waistband tag. One is a #66 road grey from 2001, one is a home white #66 from 2003, and the last is a road grey #49 from 2007. I'd be willing to sell them for $175 ea. shipped.
