I normally stay away from any GU memorabilia without a COA but I have been coming across a bunch of nice "game used" sticks lately. I have been able to match the stick style and taping style from photos. Is there anything I can look for that could really pinpoint that is was indeed used in a game and not just made to look like one?

Re: GU Hockey Stick Question
on back side of stick should be a born on date with month, day and year
Also, may be a stick that would be wrapped around bottom of shaft with approved by the NHL sticker.
Email me with pics if u need to.
I am a stick collector since 1983.

Re: GU Hockey Stick Question
What year stick are you referring to? In the early 70's I got a Rod Gilbert and Derek Sanderson NY Rangers game used Sherwood sticks. Back then, I played with them inside the house on linoleum with a tennis ball. The tape on the blade wore out and exposed a hand stamped date. The date stamp was on the back of the blade where the stick starts(heel). Wouldn't have see it if the tape remained.Comment
