Anyone have any ideas on this "Nike / NHL Street Fall 1995" puck display? Two pucks bear the same text as the placard, and the remaining nine are team pucks. Don't know if they're game pucks or replicas, believe InGlasCo made game pucks in 95, but these are marked VEGUM, OFFICIAL and MADE IN SLOVAKIA. The obverses exactly match game puck graphics, though. Don't want to destroy the sealed display to get a look at the reverses.

Can't find anything about NHL Street as a brand, either. Since all these teams wore Nike gear during this era (I believe), was this commemorating some line of licensed consumer gear that never materialized?

Any help would be much appreciated; I'm coming up with nothing.

This game puck is from that time frame and it was made in Canada (not used). I have newer gameused pucks from In Glas Co that were made in Canada. Not too sure about NHL Street. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c73/sabrefreak99/16161870050_bacd9ec988_zpssuvtk45d.jpg (http://s25.photobucket.com/user/sabrefreak99/media/16161870050_bacd9ec988_zpssuvtk45d.jpg.html)

I remember back in 1995 Nike tried to get specific gear marketed for "Street Hockey" They did a line of shoes (Nike NHL Street Express), goalie padding and a few other things. I believe your display is a Promotional plaque made to advertise the Nike NHL Street Line.

Also regarding the pucks. I have seen game pucks from Slovakia and other places like Canada.

Here is a good reference site for game pucks

Nice display by the way

Appreciate the help. After some more research, it looks as though Vegum made the licensed retail pucks during this era; I imagine if I broke open the display, I'd see a back resembling the game puck, but with "NHL Licensed Product" in place of a commissioner sig. I hadn't actually seen anything produced under the NHL Street brand; appreciate the shoe photo. From a trademark search, I found that the brand was registered in late 1994 and abandoned in 1998, but I couldn't find whether anything had been produced under the label or not.

If I had the room I would make you an offer. Just a great looking piece.
