Barry Bonds "Say No To Drugs" Wristbands

Hi guys,

I came across this "not exactly matching" pair of Barry Bonds wristbands on ebay. My first thought was that this is probably the most ironic item in the history of sports memorabilia collecting... but then after taking a closer look at them, something odd stood out. The fact they are the colors of the San Francisco Giants, the team he joined in 1993. As these were made in 1987, when he was on the Pirates, I would have expected them to be black and gold. Anyone have any ideas why the different colors?

I'm not sure that that is the year code but a copyright which is indicating the image was copyrighted in 1987 by the MIMS company.

I just came across this set online; includes some players whose careers started post 1987. Interestingly, the date embroidery is not present on most of them...

They made these for several years, he wore them with both the Pirates and the Giants. I plan to frame mine inbetween a rookie photo and a picture from his record breaking season. Here are my pirate ones, a Giants pic, and a link to a related article.
