Opinions on sidewriting - photo attached

The two pics are different bats. One the sidewriting is much more decipherable and one it is much more faint. Remember they are written in pencil in 1923 on a dark brown bat. Does anyone see any similairity in the two? thanks! sorry pic didnt upload on the last one

its really faint on the top bat thats one of the best i could get
