South Carolina football game jersey help

So I found this game jersey at a Goodwill today and I'm like 99% sure it's a gamer...but I can't seem to locate older full rosters for SC players. Does anyone know what era this is from to better maybe narrow my search?

Looks like it was used in the same era when Sterling Sharpe played...but I'm not 100% sure. Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated.

The "GAMECOCKS" type on your jersey seems to be much smaller compared to every jersey I saw in my limited search. That's the main thing that stood out to me. Hopefully, there's an SEC or South Carolina collector on here that can offer some better input.

If nothing ever turns up, I'd recommend submitting a reference question to the USC library. Colleges and universities usually have a university archives collection with tons of information, including old sports programs, rosters, and photos.
