I wanted to let everyone know that I've now posted every MLB jersey and cap I can find, team by team from 1900 thru 2014, on my site www.prosportscollectors.com. The site launched last year, we've been mentioned on UniWatch and ESPN, there are thousands of photos and site traffic is growing steadily.

I invite every MLB collector to please contribute to making it the most extensive history of actual jerseys and caps anywhere - if you own a jersey or cap from an MLB team that isn't shown please send me pics at info@prosportscollectors.com. And if anyone has pics of vintage jerseys not shown on my site from old auction catalogs, please send me pics.

All comments and corrections are warmly appreciated.

At a super quick glance it looks cool but I received an error when I clicked on the Cubs. I clicked on a couple of others and then I was dropped at a log in page. I only spent a min or 2 but will come back and look through the Cubs jerseys when they are up.

This has to be a massive undertaking, nice work

Nice work! Massive job to undertake. Much appreciated that you are willing to share info.

One update needed on early Blue Jays jerseys - in 1983 or 1984 (I belive it was '83) the Jays dropped Rawlings as their supplier of away jerseys and went with Wilson for both home and away.

You indicate that Rawlings supplied the away jerseys but You show a Wilson, away, powder blue jersey from 1984 (that is my George Bell gamer) and also highlight Wilson away jerseys from then on.

Rawlings was dropped as a jersey supplier in 1983. Also, I don't believe that the 1984 away jerseys had the Toronto 150 ann. patch.

Thanks, I will correct that. I haven't come across a 1983 road jersey yet. and, if you have photos of your 1984 jersey without the glass front & back, I'd appreciate it!

I agree...this is excellent reference material and something more extensive than anything I've even tried to do. KUDOS!

I'm not sure if this is the Cubs error referred to above, but in 1976, the road powder blues also had the Cubs 100-year patch on the left sleeve. Some 76's were recycled on the MLB level for 1977, which is the case when the cute bear head patch reappears.

BTW: if the link above doesn't translate properly, the source was a 1977 Topps card of Cubs catcher Randy Hundley, who rejoined the team during the 1976 season.

I can get you pics of the Bell (front and back) next week (out of town). Also will post pics of Toronto newspaper coverage from 1984 showing that 150 Ann. patch was only on home whites and not on away blues.

Here are the 1984 Toronto newspaper articles that show Jays away, blue jerseys with no patch (left shoulder) and home white jersey with the patch (left shoulder)

And I'm looking for the 1977 Cubs road jersey with only the bear patch.

Dave,

I'd like to have more pics of 1920's, 1930's, 1940's jerseys - I'm sure there are many in auction catalogs from years back - can you give me any ideas for finding such pics?
