Looks like a small sampling of a few cool bats on this weekends auction. Anybody bidding?

I'm bidding on a couple of bats and a jersey being auctioned there.

I'm on the fence of whether it's worth paying $1 for the right to bid on an Armando Benitez GU hat.

I like that Gwynn bat for sure.

Definitely the "gem" of the auction.

Knew of someone that was going to bid on the Gwynn. I imagine they won't/can't now.

I wasn't sure you were saying your friend thought it'd go for more or less. I thought $500 was low, but I don't know enough about Gwynn bats to put in a bid.

I just take note and remember that in my future dealings :)

I won lot number 13 which is a Greg Vaughn bat. I collect gamers from players whose rookie years fell between 87-90 (The time period when I started collecting baseball cards). I needed a Vaughn Brewers bat and I found one. Figured that would give you a more detailed "note." :)

That was not my point. You obviously do not know who you dealing with when it comes to celebz.

Judging from numerous past experiences with Celebz, they are a little lacking in the trust and integrity department necessary to run their own auctions.

Yeah that is what I am saying without saying it. I just wish people had morales.

If we GUU members support companies like this then they never go away.

I, for one, hope they don't go away. I picked up a very rare Stick by Stan Royce Clayton bat in their last auction for $15. They've got a very early Josh Hamilton bat in this one and some nice Braves jerseys that are very low right now. Always some good buys to be had and this format is better than the mass emails where you lost out if you didn't respond ASAP.

If you want good buys on questionable material, there's a huge auction house in PA with deals o'plenty. I'm sure a quick search will bring up their name.

Even if GUU stopped supporting them, Scot Monette would simply create a new company that does the same thing.

I love finding cheap oddballs like that Clayton. Very cool pick up.

Or change the spelling of his last name as he tries to skirt around his past. I think that most people really don't care. They will if they ever try and sell a questionable item though.

I mean when dealing with these people would you doubt your items authenticity even a bit? I know I would.

After being part of another FBI case involving forgeries which I recovered my funds I can tell you first hand that items that appear to be photomatched can also easily be forged.

Ultimately you gotta live with your purchases. Just be careful.
