Would you say these are the exact same tag?
I'm not asking you to compare the jersey or even the stitching - just the Wilson tags.

Thanks.

No they are not. From the pics you posted the one on the left the o and n in Wilson Is joined. The one on the right the o and n are separate.

These tags look the same to me. One just looks more worn then the other.

One the bottom stitching runs through the word "iron" and on the other there is a clear space between the two. I found some other things, but no need to explain them too.

As I stated in the first post, I'm just comparing the tags themselves. I think the tag has been moved from one jersey to another, thus the stitching won't exactly match up in all areas. And you can clearly see they didn't hit the original stitch holes on the bottom right. It seems unlikely to me that 2 tags would have the exact same dots to the right of 44. The same discoloration above the T in 'separately'.

100% not the same tag...the (R) is thicker font on one than the other

Strange. It looks like there are holes on the left tag next to the I in IRON and inbetween R and O in IRON as well. If thats the case, it very well could be the same tag. But, the spacing on the right tag, inside the L S and O, seems bigger than the L S and O on the left tag. The registered trademark symbols look different to me as well.

The tags are different. In the U.S.A. you can see that the dots are touching the letters in the left tag & on the right tag there's spacing between the dots & letters.

Now that the photo has been manipulated in the 2nd pic I take back my previous comments. I will say it's still not the same tag though.

Thanks for the responses.

To be clear, the first image was not adjusted in any way from how I found the photos. I just put them side by side. I'd guess that the pic on the right might have been taken with a flash.

The second photo I adjusted (same adjustment to both) just so some of the creases showed up a little more, for comparison.

I realize it's tough to compare as the tag on the left looks to be lying flatter.

I meant the second set Greg. Now when you enhance the photo the s on one tag looks connected and on the other seperated. Not to mention the Made in USA portion as stated above. Stickley an opinion by the way.

So I am finally able to look at the pics more closely.

On each tag there is a specific set of 2 holes or marks right above the 4 in 44, on the top right just at about 1 o'clock. Could be a coincidence I do not know. Also if this is the same tag then it possibly looks resewn. Once again just an opinion.

Due to my job I can just look at pics most of the time on my phone. It makes it much easier on a pc.

I noticed those two marks as well. There is no way that is coincidence

You're not alone. They look the same to me. Not only can you see holes in the bottom right, but across the word "IRON" where stitching used to be. Same stray marks, same fraying on the left of the tag... I think there's a good chance this is the same tag sewn two different ways.

Ebayer hoop-style bought the #44 Sixers jersey below.

The Wilson tagging is now on the Moses Malone jersey that was recently auctioned by MEARS. See link.

Ridiculous. At least he is leaving a trail so if someone does further research hopefully they stumble across this site.
