I have this Russell jersey with intera tagging and no neck tag, does that mean its a yankees team jersey? How rare are these? Value?

Lack of the Russell R and the Intera tagging signifies team issued. As for the value, i'm not sure what it would be worth. I know they are probably not that rare.

I thought they would be rare considering intera tagging only occurred for a one or two year period I think. How many blank team issues jerseys would the yankees have had made? Do teams order hundreds of them each year?

The Russell tag is 1992 vintage, although there were more than a few carryovers. Intera tagging was from mainly 1992-93, witha smattering in 1994.

so dave, does this make it common or rare? trying to figure out if it's a great find or if I overpaid.

I doubt there are too many blanks in circulation, but, if you sell it, there's the danger of the recipient trying to turn it into a star player jersey. Overall, I've never had a whole lot of interest in team-issued blanks that I had, but, depending on what you paid for it, you may have gotten a deal.

I paid 50$ which I think was a great deal considering its a team jersey and not retail. But maybe I'm out to lunch and the seller is laughing :) thanks for the input

I think the value of this item, while rare, may be weighed down a lot. You gotta think of how many people really want a blank team issued jersey in the first place. People are always going to want a used jersey or at worst a player issued one first.

Good point, I've sold regular russell blanks in the past to guys who love making their own jeters or other custom jerseys (not to resell as legit but to wear to games). I was thinking a jersey like this would be sought after as they could build it into any player and be able to strut around with no sleeve logo. I'm gonna try it on tomorrow and hopefully it fits and I just may wear it around NY one day and make all the game worn fans shake their heads in disgust :)
