Hi Geoff--

\The value depends on whether the book is a first edition printing, therefore highly collectible, or if it is a more recent reprint. Here is a link to Amazon that has several copies, both first edition and reprints, with some relative values (at least in the owner's minds).

I don't believe he wrote the books in that series, rather he provided story lines and baseball insight. With the dust covers the value is in the $50-$65 range. Without, they are in the $20 range IMO. Off condition copies have little collector value.

This is one of a series of 12-15 books (approx). I've had several. They are common, but the paper dust jackets are extremely tough to find. Your copy is missing this correct?

It is the decorative paper that covers the hard shell of the book. Virtually all hardback books have a dust jacket. They fall off and are damaged easily. It's a pain to read a book with the dust jacket still on. It's tough to find old books with them in tact.
