    eBay Auction Premiums

I was just surfing eBay, and I see their Live Auctions have buyer premiums. Does anyone know how long they have had this feature? I wonder what their thinking was when adding this feature.

    Re: eBay Auction Premiums

Ebay live auctions have always had a premium.

It is generally what the auction house charges plus 5 percent for eBay's cut.

This adds a total buyer's fee for items purchased through eBay's live auctions of 22.5 to 25 percent on top of the bid.

I generally just go to the original auction's site and place my bids there. I can bid more instead of paying a higher fee.
