Seller sent items to wrong address . . . and they were accepted.

So, this is a new one for me. Wondering if others have had this happen . . .

Won an item on eBay, seller shipped, watched USPS tracking for a few days (coast to coast) and then saw it took a turn about 5 states away from me. I've seen this before with USPS tracking and then it corrects itself after a delay . . . However this time, the tracking finally indicated it as "delivered, mailbox/post box" and that appears to be that. Nothing ever showed up to me. It appears to have been delivered to the wrong address and accepted—no questions asked.

I've already written to the seller and am waiting on a response. I'm assuming they/Paypal will refund my purchase price, but as with most collectors—I'd rather have the item! I'm a bit pessimistic that the person who was accidentally shipped them will try to return them.

I recommend you contact the US Postal Inspection Service. Perhaps they'll pay a visit to the person to whom it was delivered.
