I bought a game used (MLB Authenticated) Welington Castillo bat, used in 2013. The bat was broken on August 25, 2013. I was able to video/photo match the bat dating back to August 6, 2013. I paid very little for the bat, how much value impact was added to the bat by photo matching it being used for such a long period of time and knowing that it was used to hit his 4th HR of that season, as well as several hits? Just curious how this would affect the value of the bat. I have no intentions of selling, but wanted to know what you all think?

If you could get a very clear match on the HR it could add a little bit to the value......but I don't believe it's gonna be too significant.

I guess it depends on how much you paid in the first place for the bat. On the high end, you're looking at $100 for a Castillo bat.

Thanks for the replies. I paid $25 for the bat, which I thought was a really good deal. I liked that I was able to video match it being used for such a long time. It was a lot of fun going through MLB.tv game footage.

Could you post pics of the photo-match?

Like I said, it was a lot of fun playing around on MLB.tv I was able to his his batting tendancies by watching in detail at bats.

It's always fun when you can get a good match. It can be quite a challenge at times but it is well worth the time & effort spent.

Nice job on the photo match. $25 was a good price. I see most asking prices ranging from $50-$75, but you might be able to get someone who is willing to pay a little more for those photo matches.

So far I've been able to complile over 40 photo matches of the bat, from all games played by the Cubs from August 6, 2013 - August 25, 2013. The bat had a ton game use.
I also found it interesting that his first name is spelled with two LL's (Wellington instead of Welington). Not sure if Louisville Slugger messed that up.
