Thanks, anyone able to verify if this is his knob marking? Like the way he did it?

It's a signed game issued Andre Dawson bat....the price it sold for is just about right.

The stamping on the knob is the norm for a Cooper bat, and the bat would have to be pre-1987, as, when he joined the Cubs in '87, he wore #8.

Dawson did also wear #10 during his boston days as well, though.

Yeah I figured it was made during cooper's first year producing bats mainly for Canadian teams such as jays and expos , I've never seen him use a cooper but the year made sense since there's a 10 on knob and not an 8. Was curious if he was the one who wrote the "10" which would make it even cooler.

And thanks for everyone confirming signature, knob, year, etc. I appreciate how well this forum works when I don't know certain things :)

"10" looks to have been written by Dawson...it's a nice game bat.

Yep, I have quite a few Dawson's, looks good to me. On a side note, I was at a free public signing of his once, long line. I get up there, and he switches writing from right hand to left. Same exact graph, couldn't believe it. He said his hand gets tired signing so many, so he switches. I guess you call him a switch signer!

It's so fancy, crazy he can do it with both hands! Do you happen to have any of his coopers? I'm curious to know if he used any in games. Dennis

No, I do not have a Cooper

Exactly , I wonder if they are hard to find ...it would be cool to see a pic of him using one though but I bet he just took the free bats and didn't bother
