    Wayne Gretzky MEARS A10????

"May have been worn for one game or even one period"....."but can not prove it"...."the jersey appears to be have issued/POSSIBLE one game of use"....

These are not statements that should be used to describe an A10 jersey. A10's should be a lock. They should be pristine examples with evident defined wear and usage accompanied with photo matching and/or concrete provenance. This jersey does not meet these standards. Period.
ALWAYS buying PHOTO MATCHED Marcus Allen and Anfernee Hardaway jerseys. Also always buying Tennessee Volunteer jerseys and anything Tony Delk.

Do people really hold these grades in that high of regard? If we all took our favorite piece and sent it to somebody to "grade" it and it came back a 5, would anybody here change how they felt about the piece? I know I wouldn't. Great pieces speak for themselves. We've all seen pieces with unusual grades in either direction, enough for me to find little importance either way in any grades assigned.

That rant aside, I agree with this. It doesn't seem to warrant the grade assigned. I will refer back to the only item I ever bought from Mears, a 1994 Packers jersey which, along with their paper work, they provided photos which they used to style match the jersey. Except the photos were of 1993 Packers jerseys with the Packers franchise anniversary patch, not the NFL anniversary patch on 1994 jerseys. The jersey I got was good. The research used by others to authenticate it was less so.
