The last jersey of the great Steve Balboni? 1994 royals

Guys I picked up this 1994 royals alternate blue jersey #48, I got it , more so of the style, and that I needed this style for my collection. But after looking at the jock tag I noticed a familiar name as balboni #48 issued in 1994. It evens shows the remnants of a 125th anniversary patch. As for j. Moore I have no idea who that is. I'm wondering if balboni was issued this jersey as he was anticipating making the 94 squad out of spring training? Thoughts? Then we he retired this was given to minor leagues

Just thinking his last year with the Royals was 1988...
    Very nice jersey.

He's listed as non-roster invite to spring training.

Sounds good guys...I'm thinking maybe there is a photo op of him wearing this in 94 before he called it quits, Need to do some research.

Just a guess...could J. MOORE be longtime MLB/MiLB coach and manager Jackie Moore?

            Dave:

That was my initial thought as well, however in looking at his bio, he never was associated with the Royals....

My next thought is perhaps that this J.Moore could have been one of the "replacement players" the teams brought in back in the spring of 1995, while the actual MLB Players were on strike.

Couldn't find anything on a #48 Moore in the minors or majors for the royals organization. Its also likely possible it could've been a replacement player too, I looked up a Wikipedia article that listed most of them and didn't see a J. MOORE, (didn't know Kevin Millar was one of those guys either!! got hiiiim!)

Bottom line: judging by the rugged assembly of the nameplate, and weird lettering font, I think this might be a custom NOB job for a fan
