    Rose Mizuno on ebay.

seller has confirmed no "A" or anything stamped on the knob. This would be from 1985? Any thoughts?

I don't like the tape application as compared to examples on the pro bat fact examples. Single layer versus multiple layers on the authenticated ones. The pattern doesn't match up to any examples. There not being an A on the knob is a big negative. Buyer beware on this bat in my opinion.

Is there a clear circle on the knob? Looks like the writing is written over a circle sticker or indentation...

Well it looks like did use the blonde Mizuno with the Reds. Not sure if this was a PR4000 model or the same one in the auction. Does the knob on the one from the auction look a little off from the Hornsby style on his other Mizunos? He switched to ATHL after breaking the record so this bat would have to be from 84-85?

I have no comment on whether this bat is authenticate or not. There are a few things that concern me. However, the lack of an "A" on the knob is not one of them. I have seen several ATHL and PR4192 that are authentic (PSA authenticated/graded) that do not have an A on the knob. I would pay close attention to the other characteristics.
