Getting a flannel jersey signed

In a couple weeks I am planning on getting my Ted Simmons 1970 flannel jersey signed. Anyone have any experience getting a flannel jersey signed and what to use? Was thinking of getting it signed on the back on the number 2. Any help is appreciated.

I wouldn't dream of getting the felt number signed. Sounds like a potential disaster. Personally, I'd go for the front tail (opposite the tagging/embroidery) using a Sharpie Rub-a-dub laundry marker (I have one you can borrow).

Front of jersey - just above the tags on the right, or like Jeff side, opposite the tags on the left.
