    Kobe breaks sales record

I know I bought a good $100 or so and I don't even like Kobe...

The Staples Center sold $1.2 million worth of Kobe Bryant merchandise during his final game Wednesday, breaking the single-day arena record set by Led Zeppelin in 2007.

1.2 million in sales in the stadium alone....Interesting to see that one guy bought 20 $824 jerseys - about $16K!... They're listed at insane prices on ebay

I've lived in Los Angeles for 20 years. I've never liked Kobe (cause he was so good). I apologize for being such a troll and hating on Kobe. Last night's comeback win was one of the greatest Sports moments that I have seen in 45 years. WOW! Instant classic.

Watch The Kobe NIKE commercial "The Conductor", real good.

ESPN is incorrect. The record was 2 weeks ago at wrestlemania in dallas, they sold over $4.5 mil in merch

Sounds to me like there are a bunch of suckers in that arena. $72 for a hat... you got to be kidding me.

I agree that's pricey, but I know in my collection I overpaid for a lot of my game used items... I bet a lot of people here have spent over $500 on a jersey... even over $1,000...I realize this isn't game used, but it's a collectible...

I was there and I bought some stuff as well. I paid the 248 or whatever for 1 of those 81 hats haha. Even some of my friends who were there with me and who are also die hard fans said it was stupid, but I didn't care. I won't ever wear it, but it'll be nice to add to my collection

I guess you can look at it that way. People spend hundreds if not thousands on shoes so I guess $75 for a hat isn't that bad in the grand scheme of things.
