bats - fading?

As I continue to collect bats and am starting to really focus on them, I am wondering if the ball marks or pinetar marks deteriorate while being displayed? I could keep them in UV protected bat tubes, but would prefer not to based solely on aesthetics. What do you longtime bat collector's due to preserve your bats if anythign at all? My house is humidity controlled so that part of the equation is ok...
