1992 Wade Boggs gamer. I found one and made what I thought was a generous offer. I was basic told to go kick rock's . I just wanted to see if it was me? Or is he asking to much. So in the future I can adjust my offer. No pics but a Gamer from Boston 1992 Wade Boggs. With a certificate from Wade/ celebz.

I am new here and trying to learn. I don't want to pay too much or low ball . ( at least make a fair offer) I will reveal how much after a few responses. ( if any)

What was the offer and the asking price? Easier way to tell if it was fair or not . . . I think alot of people selling items are frustrated by lowball offers. I know anytime I've listed "best offer" you need to "wade" (pun intended) through offers that barely get past 25% of the asking price.

Asking 3000.00 full retail blown and a lot of extra fluff imo. I offered 1500.00. On feebay as I call it.

Went from Salesmen sample to gamer, and per the auction it stats Rawlings wasn't the supplier for game jerseys in 1992.

I compared the stitching the threads on the tag perfect match to each other.

Any help would be appreciated

Whoops... The seller does consignment work so it's most likely not his...

I would be very cautious of that seller.

The Seller is also offering a "Peyton Manning 2005 Indianapolis Colts Game Worn Used Football Jersey Broncos"(Item#361560488007) asking $5,000 when the jersey was sold at a MEARS auction 4/12/16 Lot #710 for $613 as a non game used jersey, well, because it wasn't ever used in a game. http://sports.mearsonlineauctions.com/LotDetail.aspx?inventoryid=98313

Two misrepresented items without even having to search hard tells me there are probably others and to steer clear.

I wonder if "sellers" other "dealers" use probstien as a way to remove themselves from the item. And probstien can say were just a consigned and make no claims...........(insert bs.....)........ Sad I thought this was a one off mistake.

Possible. Probstein123 now has the size 52 Reds Griffey Jr. jersey I posted about a couple of weeks ago that was in a Grey Flannel auction. A friend contacted the seller, and, while he did respond, it was clear he was oblivious to facts and that he though he is right and everyone else is wrong.

I've bought good items from this seller in the past in the way of autographs, but I'd have to really research any game used jerseys he offered before even thinking of making a bid.

James,

If that jersey was a game worn one, all 1992 Rawlings jerseys should have no logo on the sleeve.

I do recall that Cleveland opened the 1992 season in Rawlings logo jerseys, but they were reportedly 1991 uniforms.

Also, shouldn't 1992 Red Sox jerseys have the red JRY initials underlined with a black strip on the left sleeve?

Be glad your offer was not accepted. I hope you will eventually find your jersey.

Thanks everyone and Don. They sent me a rude email. To be fair they say I attacked them I tried to point out something isn't right. They emailed me and bcc Wade their client and sent me a screen shot of the bcc and blacked out his email. I emailed them a response and bcc Wade. I have his email...lol. just sent the picture I made comparing the 2 images.

Never intended to start any drama. BTW with celebz

Didn't check the board for a few days and this post certainly went a different direction!

So, this was a jersey that was auctioned off as a salesman sample and is actually being defended as "coming from Boggs collection." Did he buy it from Julien's, then sign it and resell it?—I suppose that technically counts as being in "his collection."

Given your original question OP, personally I don't think $1500 is a bad base offer (half the seller's inflated price, so I understand why they would refuse it, but they could have come back with a fair counter). I paid a bit more than that for my '86 Boggs, so it depends on the year, usage, etc . . . Now, obviously for this jersey, I'd offer the $150 it sold for in 2015.

That is did unfortunately, was not my goal to uncover this. Any one else agree those are the same jersey/tags? I am 99.8% certain.

Does anyone actusally trust wade boggs? I read all these posts about him selling off all his treasures and I get the feeling he is a bit loose when it comes to actual gamers...just suspicion.

Several teams wore Rawlings gamers with the sleeve logo in the opening days of the 1992 season. As you correctly surmise, however, they were 1991 unis, used due to Russell being late with delivery for several teams.

I recall seeing several Cubs players on the field with 1991 Rawlings gamers in the first homestand of 1992. I also once owned a 1991 road Mets gamer of Vince Coleman with the 1992 Shea memoriam patch on the left sleeve that was utilized for similar reasons.

See the attached: I enhanced both for resize and sharpened the detail but otherwise didn't alter anything.Check out the tiny needle pulls in the fabric, those spots match-up easier and clearer without your added circles.
