My guess would be because Mizuno was one of the glove brands Carter used they made him the shirt. So I would also guess they only made them for players who endorsed/used their brand.

sweet, I wonder if there was just one made for him or if they made him a bunch...I doubt in 1983 players would think to have multiples made to sign for charities but maybe he did back then. For 15$ plus 2$ shipping I think I did pretty good on this one :)
