    Was this Harper jersey authentic?

Was this the real deal? The jacked up nameplate on the back turned me off quite a bit.

It may well be. The nameplate damage was one layer of felt peeling off partially because of launering. Harper played 72 games at Hagerstown in 2011. My only concern would be if Harper was the only player to have worn the jersey, or one of several, as some minor league teams use jerseys for 2-3 years before releasing them.

Yeah I saw that too. I was thinking of bidding on the Ebay listing, but a couple things threw me off:

        a) The messed up nameplate lettering. I know this is probably just from laundering, but it still takes away from the aesthetic value significantly IMO.

        b) No COA from the team. The other Harper Hagerstown jerseys I've seen were accompanied by official team letter COA's. It doesn't help that the COA it does have is from the auction house that supposedly sold it just last month.
