Evan Gattis signed home run jersey. Jersey is tagged 2013 and was worn in 2013. Braves wore grey camos in 2013. White camo in 2014. Jersey is signed as if worn in 2014. Not so. Problem is that a nice genuine jersey has been signed and dated incorrectly by the player. Could you remove sharpie from such a jersey? Its ashame it wasnt signed correctly.

i dont even think kids nowadays are taught to write in cursive. gone are the days of iconic, beautifully scripted signatures like mickey mantle and babe ruth (with a few exceptions of course). pretty sure kids are losing the ability to write properly because so much is now computer based. a woman i work with said her son is taking a computer coding class and hes in like 1st or 2nd grade. times have changed for the worse in this regard.

Yes. Agree totally. One would think the player would have a vague recollection about when he wore a one of a kind jersey. Especially when it has a year tag. Can sharpie be taken off a jersey that was incorrectly signed?

Yeah, it happens. I recently saw a year tagless Reds BP jersey worn and signed by Barry Larkin. The inscription by Larkin attributed it to 1986, but the combination of a Rawlings sleeve logo and the tag design actually placed it as a 1987 gamer.

Most likely the person who asked/paid him for that 1986 inscription was trying to capitalize on that being Larkin's first season in MLB....

Though I do agree that most players are clueless when it comes to this kind of detail (most simply sign what they are being asked to).

I have a similar issue where a player signed the jersey on the number with a paint pen so if someone could answer the original question I'd be interested in hearing it.
