Hello,

While looking at the current Coach's Corner auction items, I noticed that item #273 is listed as a "1965 Mickey Mantle Autographed/Personalized Baseball." The signature is VERY different than any other Mantle autographs I have seen. I'm not saying it is fake, but is it really an authentic "vintage" Mantle signature as advertised? Thanks!

I wouldn't touch that ball. It is probably a clubhouse ball signed by a Yankees staff member. It also looks traced over.

That looks terrible. It looks to be traced over to me also.

Nope. That is not his original signature. It is either traced over or it has been forged very slowly.

This looks like the work of an 8 year old. And bad work, at that!

I am very familiar with mickey mantle autographs and he actually had 2 styles he had a style in his very first early years which is nearly impossible to find now bcuz no one wants to let them go. Then there is his other style which is the most common we see out there all the time. This ball looks like his early style which would come from 1951 - 55 and the ball is stated to be a 1965, plus it doesnt look like a clean autograph / I must agree it does look and sound and smell fake / and you know what they say!!!!

I wouldn't touch it. Looks bogus, unless of course he signed the ball while he was shit-faced at Toots Shor's one night:D
