In the mid to late 80s several teams wore Champion with tags indicated size by letter: L, XL, XXL. Later (early 90s) they switched to the two tag system. One tag being the "designed and tailored exclusively for" and the other being the numbered size: 46, 48, 50 etc.
The late 80s jerseys are such curious jerseys to me. At first glance you'd think these were cheap replicas because of the lightweight, polyester/nylon micro-mesh. But in fact, these are what was worn by several teams:
-Indianapolis Colts
-Cincinnati Bengals
-Buffalo Bills
-New England Patriots
Am I missing any other teams? I have several gamers from this era of Champion and they really stand out from the (what I call) "slick mesh" and the heavy textured mesh jerseys.
