Is there a guide to names on the backs (NOBs) of jerseys on vintage game-used baseball jerseys before the '70s? For example, did the 1965 Cleveland Indians have NOBs on their jerseys. I apologize if this information has been provided in a previous thread. Thanks for any information.

Uni-watch would have examples of odd NOBs in different sports.
I do not know of a "guide". I do have some examples from my photo archives.

I'll check.

Good Luck!

The Indians had them for a few years on the vests, but not yet in 1965. When they went to the sleeved jersey in 1970-71, they stopped using them briefly.

Ones I can vouch for include:'

White Sox (road 1960-70, home 1961-70)
Angels (1970-71)
Oakland (1970-71)
KC A's (1963 crude knit yellow vests by Wilson)
Orioles (1966-71)
Tigers (1970-71)
Cardinals (1963-70, unsure about 1962)
Braves (1963-64)
Reds (1965-71)
Astros (1971)

I probably missed a couple; feel free to add on to this.

1962 St. Louis Cardinals had names on the backs of jersey. A 1962 home Musial jersey offered by Heritage Auctions was graded A10 by MEARS and I've also seen a 1962 road Bob Burda jersey with NOB.

Thanks. I kind of thought so, but wasn't sure.
