Nike NCAA Vapor Elite game balls & Wilson NFL Game balls - how to determine date?

Hey guys,

I've collected game jerseys for a long time and have gotten into helmets, but now have gotten a few game footballs. Is there a way to determine the date on NCAA footballs (specifically the Nike Vapor Elite or Spalding Alpha) or NFL footballs?
