The primary weapons of Vince's destruction were these spikes Coleman used for the majority of the 1986 season. Photo imagery of his 1985 rookie year show him using mostly Nike cleats and then a different earlier pair of Mizuno cleats towards the end of the season. He had signed an exclusive deal with them later in the 1985 season along with fellow base stealer Rickey Henderson.
The getty image attached is an exact photomatch based on the red smudging on the right shoe in the white area. The small spikes are a size 8 which match exactly to the size of a pair directly sold by Coleman in 1990 (that particular pair interestingly had his cell phone bill stuffed into one of the shoes). The spikes have been autographed on both and feature his #29 in black marker on the back as well. They show tremendous game use and were likely used the entire season, although he did at times, use a different pair of turf shoes with rubber spikes and extra toe guard. An excellent item from Vincent "Van Go".
