Warriors "retire" Kevin Durant's uniform number.
Many Golden State fans are upset with the "retirement" of Durant's #35 jersey.
The term "retirement" is in quotes.as it will likely not be permanent. Warriors Owner/CEO Joe Lacob decided to not reissue #35 for as long as he owns the team.
Much of the fan backlash centers around two Durant-related issues. Durant only played with the team for 3 seasons. Also, at least some fans believe that this move was made as am attempt to appease KD after the team's total mishandling of his playoff injury.
