Kansas City Chief Game Used Helmet

Hi a buddy of mine picked up this helmet and I wanted to reach out to see if anybody out there might be able to shed some light on whether the helmet is game-used/worn and might be attributed to number 31 in 1988. It is a Gladiator/All American large helmet circa mid to late 1980s.
