Basic GU Bat question: how many bats??

I'm curious to know just how many bats players use each season.

Obviously there is a wide range, but does anyone have any information about how many bats can really be considered "game used" from a certain player each season?

I ask, because I once heard that Jason Giambi said he goes through about 12-13 DOZEN bats each season, saying that he uses a thin-handled bat that cracks often. That's about 150 bats a season.

But what about Pujols, Jeter, A-Rod, Miguel Cabrera, Ryan Howard, Vladimir, Ichiro, etc??

    Just curious...

The official website of the New York Yankees with the most up-to-date information on scores, schedule, stats, tickets, and team news.

Here's a link to a story about bats which I found on the Yankee MLB site.

Interesting to compare the number of bats players used to get in the old days (ex Mantle) verses the 100's of bats a player can go thru in a single season in these modern times.
