While NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman has so far refused to allow sponsor ad logos on NHL game sweaters, he has been open to allow such ads on players' helmets.

This idea has now become reality as, for the 2020-21 season, New Jersey, Washington and Nashville have announced that they will add the sponsor logos to player helmets. (New Jersey Devils helmet and logo shown in photo.)
