Does the tagging on this look good. Sure seems like it looks new for a 30 year old flannel jersey.

Does anyone have a 1964 home jersey to compare this tagging to? Any and all comments welcome.Always looking for Atlanta Braves Game-Used items. hiramman@bellsouth.net -
Re: 1964 LA Dodgers flannel
That Wilson tag is from the late 50s to the mid 60s. By the way, that's 43 years, not 30. I feel old, also!
Some MLB teams used felt lettering in the 60s...I will do more research.Comment

Re: 1964 LA Dodgers flannel
Yea, I noticed my math error after it was posted. I've got to slow down when typing and posting. Anyway, I don't know anything about Dodger jerseys, but the 1964 strip tag below the Wilson tag just looked funny to me.
Does anyone know anything about it?Always looking for Atlanta Braves Game-Used items. hiramman@bellsouth.netComment

Re: 1964 LA Dodgers flannel
In Leland's November 1998 auction, lot #77, they sold a Jack Bolling Dodgers flannel with the same Wilson tags and "1964" swatch. This does not validate the Podres jersey, but does prove they wore a Wilson set with year tag in 1964. Also, the eBay seller of the Podres is trustworthy.Comment

Re: 1964 LA Dodgers flannel
I don’t usually comment on items still open on ebay, but I don’t believe that the 1964 Dodgers jersey that both-teams-played-hard cited is a good example to use as a way of proving the Dodgers wore Home Wilsons in 1964. Lelands mistakenly attributed the jersey to Jack Bolling, a ballplayer who I believe last played for the Dodgers in the 1940’s. In fact, the jersey did have the proper name sewn in the tail “Bohling” (first name Charles), however he was reassigned in early April, and doesn’t appear to have ever pitched in the majors. Maybe the Bohling jersey was a Spring Training jersey, maybe it’s the regular season jersey he never got to wear, I really don’t know, especially since the Leland’s write-up doesn’t mention whether the jersey showed any signs of wear.
And to answer your next question, no, I don’t have any records for any 1964 Dodger Home flannels jerseys, but have seen a Spalding 1964 home pants that had been sent down to the minors, authenticated by SCD several years ago. Makes you wonder where all the 64’s went.
And while the seller may be reputable, I am always hesitant to pay very much for a game-used item if the seller doesn’t explicitly state a money-back guarantee or provide a LOA from someone I am comfortable with, unless it is an item I have my own comfort level with.
