Another Babe Ruth Forgery

This one is Lot 952 in the Coach's Corner November auction.

Here is another Babe Ruth forgery. The good thing about this one is that I don’t even have to judge the autograph. The dollar bill wasn’t even manufactured when Babe Ruth was alive.

As you can see from the scan, the Treasurer of the U.S. is Ivy Baker Priest.

Mr. Priest had two terms as Treasurer. The first one was from 1-28-1953 to 7-28-1957 with George M. Humphrey as Sec. Of Treasury. The second term was from 7-29-1957 to 1-20-1961 with Robert B. Anderson as Sec. Of Treasury.

Being as Babe Ruth died in 1948 and this bill could not have been printed until 1953 at the earliest, it was impossible for Babe Ruth to have signed it.

Coach's Corner has been notified via e-mail. The auction ends on Friday night. Check back to see if they did the right thing.

I cancelled my SCD subscription because they continued to print ads for Coach's Corner. These people are crooks. Straight up-no chaser. I can't believe they are still in business. They had a autographed photo of JFK and Jackie O. The photo was taken November 22, 1963 at the Dallas Airport (famous photo..Jackie in pink suit and pillbox hat). Of course, Kennedy was murdered hours later. But the consignor developed the print, then had the President and First Lady sign it in the meantime, before the ride in the convertable.

According to Coach's Corner, Roger Maris signed more autographs AFTER he died than when he was living. These people probably sell Bob Feller forgeries.

That auction ended LAST Friday night......someone is going to very unhappy. Anyone who would buy auto'd material from this auction house is foolish!
