    Photomatched jersey to baseball card...

I just photomatched a jersey to a baseball card. The image isn't in Getty. Would it be impossible to contact the card company about getting a print or getting ahold of the photographer? I don't have my hopes up, but has anyone else photomatched to a card? Any luck getting a larger copy or higher resolution shot? Thanks in advance.

Nice job. I've made plenty of style-matches from cards but no photomatch yet. What card company is it from?

          Chris,

Give the card company a call, it's worth a try!

I matched a game used Albert Pujols Old Hickory bat with a scored handle to a 2003 Donruss baseball card. The photo was taken on 8-10-02 vs the New York Mets.

Shortly after I got the bat I called Old Hickory bats and the owner checked the records and told me that only two of these two-tone bats were sent to Pujols in 2002. I called and tried to get the photo from Donruss, but they went out of business.

          Good Luck, Bobby

yea that's why I was asking him what card company it was. Donruss and Fleer are gone, while now it's just Topps and Upper Deck

Hey guys, thanks for the responses. I matched the jersey to a 2007 Upper Deck card. I dropped them an email and will try calling at some point too. Like I said, I don't have my hopes up because of the issue of ownership...the photographer may sell the image outright, but may retain ownership and grants certain licenses to the card company. MLB probably has a hand in it too. I'm not sure how it would work, but I could see the redtape being tough in this kind of situation. Anyway, thanks for the posts. If you have any ideas, be sure to drop them in on the thread or email me. Thanks again.

Re: Photomatched jersey to baseball card...

I was recently made aware of this match (baseball card to item(s)) by David Louie. David also was kind enough to sell me the bat years ago once he knew of my interest, and that I had obtained the Chavez jersey from Steiner. I had no idea untill recently that the card existed. And that Upper Deck used this card for The National as one of a few cards to go on their passes.

and,not too many times does an at bat provide a baseball card image and a photomatch to a specific hi,t and its mark on a bat. But my photo above is believed to be caused by the hit shown in the photo below. the bat was used in one game and cracked.
