    Another Lampson/Vint. Authentics Miss?

While conduction some follow-up research re: recent jersey transactions, something caught my eye... In their recent auction, Vintage Auctions offered a "Javon Walker 2006 Game Used Jersey" (Lot 230) authenticated by Lou Lampson (see http://vintageauthentics.at.truition...aunbr=81766146). Noted in the items' description was a comment stating, "Although Walker gamers are predominantly custom cut and hemmed, the game use is apropos for WR leading to a final authentic grade of 5.5."

A quick scan of Getty Images would seem to not only support the assertion that "Walker gamers are predominantly custom cut and hemmed", but that, at least for 2006, all of Walker's jerseys are cut ant hemmed.

For those games where the Broncos wore their dark home jerseys, the following is offered:

    Aug 19 vs Titans

    Aug 27 vs Texans

    Sep 17 vs Chiefs

    Oct 9 vs Ravens

    Oct 15 vs Raiders

    Oct 29 vs Colts

    Nov 19 vs Chargers

    Dec 3 vs Seahawks

    Dec 24 vs Bengals

Is anyone else able to dectect any evidence of +4" body length and or tail tagging?

I think what's fair here is to ask the auction house which employs Mr. Lampson (in this case Vintage) for the photo evidence Lampson used to come up with his conclusions.

I have asked for this kind of thing from many different auction houses and have NEVER ONCE gotten the photo.

I hope you have better luck than I do, because you can't just make up a fact like that- as a hired professional he has to have some basis for his findings.

You might as well ask for the moon. If there were actual pics to back up items, don't you think it would only add to the value of the item if the photos were presented along with the photos of the item.

But that's quite a bit of work. Some auction houses can't seem to even make the effort to photograph both sides of a jersey.

I'm sorry, but that's not too much to ask. It's the MINIMUM of what should be expected. Offering a style match (not a photo match) to support your conclusion is logical, since you SHOULD HAVE located this photo before coming to your conclusion.

          Eric,

Please set your Sarcasm filter to moderate.

I know it's not too much to ask. I simply meant it's probably not gonna happen. Like having contact info for Socket Set Lou. Should be available, but it isn't.
