    April pick ups

Well, I attended the first antique show of the year last weekend and had some success. I found a very nice Nokona Bill Hunter which I understand is quite rare. It has two fingerlock loops on the back of the fingers and very heavy piping and a smooth lining ($30). Next I came across a Reach official league ball with a lot of light fountain pen signatures. I need to look more closely at the signatures, but Lou Boudreau is definately there. This was actually in a baby buggy with a pony league ball ($3). My next find was a pair of bats which included an absolutely beautiful 35" H&B Burnt Oil finish bat with great lathe marks patina, and a Lee May 35" model 125 ($90 for the pair). There were a number of other lower end items available and a few waaaay overpriced nice gloves and a trophy. Overall and nice day.

Thanks Dan. I am amazed by the condition also. Considering the age, it has seen little use.

Hi All. I have been a bit removed from the collecting world lately. Been so crazy with work and family. But I've got a some more free time now, and am doing some catch up. I haven't visited this forum in a while, but great to see some lively discussion...so I'll think I'll catch up on some threads.

Mike- Great Bat. I especially like that a lot too! Congrats!!

Turns out the ball is the 1939 Cleveland Indians!! Two Feller sigs, and many others. It's pretty rough, but for $3.00 I'll take it.

                    Hey everyone,

There wasn't another "April Pick-Ups" thread open so I figured I would just add to this one.

Here are several of the bats I've picked up the last month or so. The top two are the "keepers" for my collection.

                    1961-64 H&B Carl Yastrzemski W166
                    1965-68 H&B Willie McCovey K55
                    1999 LS Derek Jeter P72
                    1921-27 H&B Heinie Groh
                    1969-72 H&B Bill Mazeroski S2
                    1965-68 H&B Boog Powell O16
                    1925-29 Zinn-Beck Ken Williams 100 Diamond Ace
                    1986 Rawlings Darryl Strawberry 113A
                    1965-68 H&B Gene Freese M159
2006 LS Neifi Perez World Series M343

A few new pinbacks. The 1.75" Tigers is a tough pin to find.

Nice pinbacks Mike....I have to say I don't think I've seen the Tigers pin before.

I picked up some bargains from Hunts - don't have the stuff in hand yet as they haven't even sent invoices out yet, but I was happy to win them. Less than $200 with the juice.

I got this first lot for the Eddie Collins Domino Disc

I picked this lot up for the early Philly ticket stubs and a Ted's Creamy Root Beer Bottle which is not shown...I love Hunt's lots because it's sort of like opening a grab bag...not exactly sure what all is in this lot as it's not all shown in the pic.

The next two lots are from Charlie Wagner's estate - restaurant photo of Dom Dimaggio, Phil Rizzuto and others autographed.
