1970s Nets vs. Knicks in D.C.

This is a late 70s photo of the New York Knicks playing the New Jersey Nets. From the scorer's table in the background, it appears that they are playing in the Capitol Centre in Washington, D.C.
In the 50s, NBA teams would play double-headers with 4 different teams at Madison Square Garden. Was this done in the late 70s? Is this a pre-season game?
Also, notice the lack of NOBS on the Nets' shirts...

    Warren,

That is indeed the Cap Centre. I will try to see if anyone my age remembers preseason double headers there. From the picture, there seems to be a pretty good crowd in the stands.

Is that Ray Williams with the Knicks?

If so, the Nets numbers might be a match for the 77-78 season, based on uniform numbers I saw listed at APBR.

Yes, it is Ray Williams. Maybe a photo-match...still trying to compare the wrinkles in the numbers!
